  • Hanif possesses a profound and well-rounded understanding of accountancy and taxation, complemented by a strong business acumen that has evolved over fifteen years of academic, training, and practical experiences. Besides obtaining an MBA, Hanif has achieved several prestigious professional qualifications, currently holding fellow memberships with ICAB and ACCA, as well as an associate membership with ICAEW. With more than 12 years of post-qualification experience, Hanif is highly experienced and adept in the fields of corporate tax, transfer pricing, tax due diligence, and corporate restructuring.

  • Hanif's expertise extends to navigating complex corporate tax scenarios and representing clients before tax authorities for tax assessments and appeals. He has gained extensive practical experience working closely with regulatory bodies such as Bangladesh Bank, BIDA, BEZA, RJSC, and others, dealing with permissions, compliances, and foreign remittances.

  • Throughout his career, Hanif has served in esteemed roles at prominent chartered accountancy and advisory firms in Bangladesh, including as a Partner. Before transitioning to private practice, he also worked within leading business conglomerates and commercial bank. He has successfully led audit and assurance as well as business advisory services for a considerable duration.

  • Presently, at his current firm, Hanif bears primary responsibility for direct and indirect tax matters, transfer pricing, and all regulatory services. He has been entrusted with handling flagship clients, including Nokia Solutions, Novo Nordisk, Unilever, China Communications Constructions Corporation, Marubeni Corporations, Jotun, Honda, Roche, Axiata, Crystal Martin, Sumitomo, POSCO, PUMA, Samsung, Sino hydro, and several others.

  • In addition to his professional engagements, Hanif actively contributes to the field by serving as an examiner for professional exams and participating as a trainer in various forums. Professional Experience

  • With more than 15 years of experience in statutory audit, bookkeeping, tax compliance, statutory reporting and payroll. In his role as engagement leader, he constantly overseas the client operations and ensures timely reporting & statutory compliances. While ensuring the team is up to date with all the statutory changes, he coaches / trains the team on an ongoing basis to enable quality deliverables to the client.

  • Arif led Accounting Compliances & Reporting (ACR) and Business Consulting service line in EY Bangladesh. His service line mainly focuses on accounting services including FS preparation, tax provision & deferred tax calculation in accordance with IFRS and Bangladesh law, Internal audit outscored and co-sourced services which includes effective SOP design and implementations. Also experienced in statutory audit services.

  • Arif has extensive experience in consulting on development of accounting policies and procedures closely adjusted to IFRS; conversion of the local GAAP and applicable laws.
